Current Opening - Medical Assistant-Scribe - Ann Arbor, Wixom, Plymouth Locations - Full/Part-time

Purpose: The role of the Medical Assistant Scribe (MA) is to provide outstanding support to physicians and physician's assistants while providing exceptional care to patients and customers within the clinical scope of an MA.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinates with clinic staff to ensure a positive patient flow, waiting room, and exam room experience
  • Prepares patients to be seen by physicians, collects health histories and changes as required by the healthcare provider
  • Assists provider with collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care in our EHR
  • Communicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare provider

  • Assists in routine clerical functions such as updating medical information in patient's records, obtaining prior authorizations, obtaining medical records from other providers and entering charges for billing purposes

Current Opening - Medical Billing Specialist - Ann Arbor Location - Full-time

Purpose: Works closely with 3rd party Billing Service and Practice management to ensure accuracy/efficiency in medical billing, patient account management, timely collections and patient eligibility.

We're looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, a great attitude, outstanding customer service skills, and 2+ years of recent experience. CPC is a plus, but not required. Significant growth opportunity.

Job Duties:

  • Accurately posting patient payments and refunds.
  • Reviews patient’s bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information.
  • Answers the billing phone line promptly and courteously.
  • Respond timely to payer denials using insurance appeal policies and specified office policies.
  • Manage insurance claims and appeals for timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Gather appropriate clinical documentation to complete proper medical review and appeals.
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
  • Identify denials resulting from ineffective office practices and offering solutions and suggestions.
  • Identifying bad debt balances and notifying billing manager of uncollectible balances.
  • Identify denial trends by payer and discuss their trends with management.

Current Opening - Histotech - Mohs - Ann Arbor Location - Part-time

Purpose: The role of the Histotech-Mohs is to provide high-quality histologic specimens for microscopic evaluation and review by the Mohs Surgeon while also serving the needs of the Mohs laboratory.

We're looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, a great attitude, outstanding communication skills, and a minimum of one (1) year of Histology, Mohs or relevant laboratory experience. Significant growth opportunity.

Job Duties:

  • Prepares quality slides for microscopic examination by embedding specimens and performing the sectioning of frozen specimens using the Cryostat
  • Performs routine H&E stains for microscopic diagnosis by the Mohs Surgeon
  • Mounts, labels and stains the slides
  • Retains Mohs related specimens according to protocols
  • Maintenance of applicable laboratory equipment including cleaning and calibration
  • Maintains quality control records for equipment and instruments
  • Prepares and maintain adequate stock of reagents and other materials needed for the laboratory
  • Recognizes laboratory equipment issues/concerns and take appropriate corrective action
  • Ensures that the laboratory is compliant with applicable laws and regulations
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

Current Opening - Patient Service Representative - Ann Arbor, Wixom Locations - Full/Part-time

Purpose: As a Patient Service Representative you will answer calls for a busy, multiple-physicians’ office, scheduling patient appointments, answering questions, and responding to requests.

Job Duties:

  • Consistently provide excellent customer service, pleasantly greeting all callers, and communicating with callers and patients in a respectful and helpful manner.
  • Answer 80+ inbound calls in a call center setting within designated time frames, answer questions, and direct calls to appropriate person.
  • Schedule patient appointments accurately in Practice Management System and consistent with individual physician preference.
  • Gather appropriate patient information about medical complaints/concerns and document these accurately and concisely in communications to the physicians and/or office staff. Communications are prioritized appropriately.
  • Verify and accurately record patient demographic, insurance, and other information.
  • Work with team of co-workers in Call Center and the clinics to answer questions and maintain appropriate scheduling of patients.
  • Effectively perform individual share of the workload and actively engage in other assigned tasks during periods of low call volume. On occasion, may provide backup to, and perform all duties of, Medical Receptionist clinics as needed.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills, working knowledge of database systems, and comfortable with the use of technology.
